The GameGrade Pitch Locator is a tool designed by a baseball coach to assist coaches, scouts, parents, and fans in tracking detailed pitch data during games. It provides valuable insights into pitch location, type, and sequence, aiding hitters in refining their approach and pitchers in addressing location consistency issues.

For players, understanding where a pitcher consistently places pitches and the sequence in which they are thrown can enhance preparation for future contests or even subsequent at-bats. This information becomes part of their strategic arsenal.

Coaches can leverage the collected data to analyze opponents' tendencies. By tracking each pitch's location, type, and sequence, coaches gain a comprehensive view of an opponent’s pitching pattern. This can inform game strategy, such as identifying a pitcher's primary strikeout pitch or assessing the effectiveness of their location.

Parents can use the app to monitor their child's at-bats from the stands. Recording each pitch allows for post-game review of contact points and pitch locations, fostering constructive discussions about their child's performance and pitches they handle well.

Umpires benefit indirectly through coaches' analysis of the strike zone data captured by the tool. This can aid in understanding whether certain pitches are frequently called strikes or balls based on their location.

The Pitch Locator features an intuitive interface. The user taps on the screen to mark where the pitch was thrown; toggling between left- and right-handed hitters adjusts the targeting accordingly. Users can select pitch types and hit types, with the current count displayed conveniently below the inning indicator. Post at-bat, users can record results using standard baseball shorthand, such as 4-3 for a groundout to second base.

Once an at-bat concludes, a screenshot captures all pertinent details, which are stored in the device’s photo album for easy review later. The app itself does not store or manage these images directly but allows seamless access through the device's photo gallery.

The interface includes input fields for the hitter's number and name or notes related to each at-bat, providing additional context. The middle number indicates the hitter’s position in the batting order, enabling comparison across multiple at-bats for specific players—such as analyzing pitches thrown to the cleanup hitter by reviewing saved images.

Users with a GameGrade account can upload their Pitch Locator PLUS data to their online profile for further analysis and record-keeping, enhancing strategic planning and performance review over time.
